Former President Michel invited to address 6th Sustainable Ocean Summit
The Executive Chairman of our Foundation, Former President James Michel will be addressing delegates at the 6th Sustainable Ocean Summit (SOS) in Hong Kong next week at the invitation of the Founding President and CEO of World Ocean Council, Mr. Paul Holthus.
This year’s summit is taking place under the theme: “Ocean Sustainable Development-Connecting Asia and the World”. It provides a global platform for leadership companies from diverse ocean business communities and organizations to advance the development and implementation of industry-driven solutions to ocean sustainability challenges.
It will take place from 14th to 16th November.
Mr. Michel is expected to focus his intervention on responsible use and exploitation of marine resources, innovative approaches to ocean conservation globally, marine pollution and maritime corporate responsibility.
Mr. Michel was recently appointed a founding member of the Pew Bertarelli Ocean Ambassadors, a small group of global leaders who will work with the Pew Bertarelli Ocean Legacy Project to advocate for the creation of large marine protected areas.
The James Michel Foundation is a member of the World Ocean Council which is a global, cross-sectoral ocean industry leadership alliance committed to “Corporate Ocean Responsibility”, developed by and for the private sector, with a unique and multi-sectoral approach to address cross-cutting issues affecting ocean sustainable development, science and stewardship of the seas.
