James Michel Foundation Represented at Our Ocean Conference
Former President James Michel is in Bali, Indonesia for the fifth “Our Ocean Conference” focused on generating commitments and taking actions to maintain the sustainability of our oceans.
Mr. Michel’s participation at the conference is at the invitation of the Pew Bertarelli Ocean Legacy Project.
The initiative builds upon a decade of work by the Global Ocean Legacy campaign that has helped safeguard more than 6 million square kilometres of ocean by working with local communities, governments, scientists, and other stakeholders around the world.
Ocean Conference 2018 under the theme “Our Ocean: Our Legacy” is expected to demonstrate significant progress on past commitments and inspire new commitments made for the continuation of a more concerted and integrated actions for protecting the oceans.
Mr. Michel is a fervent advocate of the preservation and protection of the ocean which is the life supporting system on our planet.
The two day conference is being attended by some one thousand five hundred delegates from across the globe.
